I was not quite sure of who the Kardashian’s really were until I started watching the hit reality tv show keeping up with the Kardashian’s. I am a huge fan of reality tv so of coarse I think that the show is very entertaining. I would not say that it is a show of an average family just because of the fame that the family has. I think that because they are famous and living a very glamourous life it makes it more appealing. Yeah it is not practical but if it was I don’t think it would be as popular as it is. It does tie in real family drama with their glamourous lives well. I remember watching the episode where Bruce went out with the younger guys and ended up getting his ears pierced, I thought it was hilarious and would be something that most fathers would do trying to be hip and fit in with the younger guys. The show has something special that sets it apart and it works! One of my favorite reality shows to watch.
I recently was hearing rumors of Facebook shutting down and ending March 15, 2011. Being an avid facebook user this worried me especially since the date it was said to end happened to be my birthday! I decided to look further into the topic and found an interesting article on the huffingtonpost.com website.
The article confirmed that it was just a ridiculous rumor. The rumor was evidenced by Google Trends and exploded on Twitter. An opinion piece published on CNN said that it was “the beginning of the end” for Facebook sending panic to all users. The article goes on to confirm that all this talk of facebook shutting down is just a rumor. So rest assured the social network we all know and love is not going anywhere for a while.
This makes me wonder what would happen to our social lives if facebook was all of a sudden taken away? As a society a lot of us have relied heavily on communicating via social networks. I wonder what our lives would be like now if we did not have the privalege of these social networks. Would we be able to go back to communicating via cell phones and emails? Or would a new social network make its debut?
I am glad the record was set straight and the rumors were put aside, but it does make you think about what could happen if the tragedy of facebook ending actually did occur in the near future.

Lindsay Lohan has had a pretty awful year. It is getting safer to say that she is not going to clean up her act anytime soon. Ok so first she got into trouble for all of her partying and needed rehab and now she is a thief? I do not understand how she can seem to be getting her life back into order by passing random drug tests and now she is stealing? Does she not have any money saved up that she could have just bought that necklace? I mean she has been in a lot of movies that have done well so why not just buy the necklace?
Lindsay does say that she did not steal it but I do not know why a store would just make up these allegations about her? Maybe it is a stores way of getting their name out in the media like a publicity stunt but I do not think that they would want the bad rep of lying about a famous actress stealing.
It’s hard to say on this one what the truth actually is but I think it is safe to say that Lindsay needs to quit getting caught up in these bad situations. She needs to lay low for a while or do something positive for herself to get some good media recognition.
According to an article on LATimes.com the St. Louis Cardinals have been given until Wednesday to sign a deal with Albert Pujols. If the Cardinals miss this deadline they will have to wait until after the season to try to reach a deal with him. Pujols has been with the Cardinals for ten years and is now 31 years old. Last season he had 42 home runs and 118 RBI’s. Pujols is asking for a contract along the lines of 10 years for 275 million.
It is no doubt that Albert Pujols is an amazing baseball player not only offensively but a great first baseman. But if the Cardinals were to sign him for ten years, that means that he will be 41 years old by the time the contract is up. Usually baseball players are not up to their full potential by that age in life.
I think that it would be good if the Cardinals and Pujols could make a five year agreement for a little bit more money each year. He not only is a star in the community for his great athletic ability but for his role model like behavior as well. Albert is involved in many good causes and charitable organizations around the St. Louis area and brings positive news to St. Louis. He would be missed terribly by cardinal fans in St. Louis.
